I am only part of your life,

You are all of mine

In law I am still just property

but with you,

I have so much space to shine.

but forever to you I'll stay true.

My owner, my parent, my protector-

with all of my heart, I will always protect her.

I am only part of your life

but by God I adore you in every weather!

I feel like we could face this whole world

never apart, and always together.

I am only part of your life

and your moods, they mean nothing to me.

The way that you look, speak or feel,

from my eyes, are still as flawless as the sea.

Like that day on the beach we had-

remember how we both felt so free?

I am only part of your life

and when nature takes me to heaven,

I'll watch over you always

as you 'Carpe Diem'

I wrote this poem to anyone with a dog or another pet in their life.

Remember that although they only make up a very small part of your life, you really are all of theirs. So on every walk, give them your attention and play with them daily.

Love them unconditionally, the way you would want to be loved.
