She felt light in the dark,
so she painted the snow.
She felt dark in the day,
so she painted the rain.
She felt guilty and scattered,
so she painted something she would not need to explain.
She loved and she lost,
so she drew the lost love she knew.
She smiled as she imagined the summer rays,
so she painted a campfire on the beach, full ablaze.
She looked back at all her work
the days she spent creating.
She never really fully understood
the way they all were relating.
From the dark skies to the flooded streets,
the portraits to the painted cheats.
There was always one thing in common-
the creative woman will always draw power
from the canvas, like a witches brew,
or a unconfined heartbeat.
For those of you during lockdown, and during this Covid-19 Pandemic- remember art is always there to fill your days with power.
